CB certification

CB system (IEC system for conformity testing and certification of electrical products) is operated by IECEE -An international system in which the certification bodies of each IECEE member state test the safety performance of electrical products on the basis of IEC standards. The test results are the CB test report and CB test certificate that are mutually recognized by the IECEE member states. The purpose is to reduce international trade barriers due to the need to meet the certification or approval criteria of different countries. IECEE is the abbreviation of International Electrotechnical Commission conformity testing and certification organization for electrical products.

CB system member states

The CB system provides manufacturers with an easy way to obtain multi-national safety certification for their products, so that their products can enter more than 60 countries at present, and this number will continue to grow, including

Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Germany, Single Buy, Spain, Finland, France, United Kingdom, Greece, Hungary, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Netherlands, New Zealand , Poland, Portugal, Russia, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Turkey, Ukraine, United States, Yugoslavia, Switzerland, Malaysia, Sweden, Thailand, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bulgaria, Uruguay

CB certificate report

The CB report is a standardized report, which enumerates the requirements of the relevant IEC standards in the form of an item-by-item list. The report reflects the results of all tests, tests, verifications, inspections and assessments required by the standard. These results should be clear and unambiguous. The report contains photos, country differences, terms and conditions, and product descriptions. According to the rules of the CB system, the CB test certificate is only valid when it is provided with the CB test report, and the CB has no mark.

Apply for CB certificate

1. Regarding the application for CB test certificate, the following points should be noted:

a. The application for the CB test certificate can be submitted by the applicant to any "certification/approval" NCB that covers the scope of the product;

b. The applicant can be either the manufacturer or an entity authorized to represent the manufacturer;

c. The application may include one or more factories producing products in one or more countries.

d. Applicants/manufacturers/factories located in countries where there is no IECEE member institution need to pay an additional fee of 150 Swiss francs for each CB test certificate to compensate for the operating cost of the system. This fee is paid by the NCB that accepts the CB test. Received, and will be credited to the IECEE account.

e. The applicant can request NCB to test the product according to the national difference of the country where the product is sold.

2. The manufacturer must obtain product certification for the target market including the following procedures:

a. Submit an application to the NCB of the target country;

b. CB test certificate;

c.CB test report (can include national differences);

d. Provide product samples to the target market when required by NCB;

The purpose of requesting samples is to verify that the product is consistent with the product originally tested by NCB and has covered national differences.

3. Country differences

National differences are the differences between a country's standards or regulations and the corresponding international standards. All national differences of countries that have joined the CB system are submitted to the IECEE Secretariat and published in the CB Bulletin.

CB product certification scope

At present, the CB system covers electronic game devices, test equipment, power supply cables, capacitors and parts, lighting, household appliances, protection devices, transformers, office and IT equipment, AV equipment, and medical equipment, with a total of 180 types in 14 categories product. CB laboratory (CBTL) is a laboratory accepted by the CB system, authorized by the specific National Certification Body (NCB) to perform product testing and issue test reports. Manufacturers can obtain CB reports and certificates from the national certification body of any country, and convert them to other safety certificates through the national certification body under the system of that country.

The necessity of CB test certification

It is the foundation of the CB system that the product safety test results of electrical and electronic equipment are accepted globally. After successfully completing the test, a CB test certificate and corresponding CB test report will be issued for the product. Together, these two documents constitute a pass, and the manufacturer can apply for global certification from any national certification body in the country or region participating in the CB system, and no additional testing is usually required. In addition, when applying for CB certification, it is necessary to inform the country to be considered for inclusion in the report, so that the corresponding national differences can be taken into account when testing.

CB certification cycle and validity period

The routine is 3-4 weeks, but it can be expedited, and extra charges will be required for expediting. No expiration date.
