Brazil ANATEL certification

The Brazilian Telecommunications Agency (ANATEL) requires all telecommunications products and accessories to obtain ANATEL certification before they can be legally commercialized and used in Brazil.

ANATEL certified product range category

Category I

The terminal equipment connected to the Fixed Switched Telephone Service (FSTS) network through the endpoint;

The equipment that connects the private telecommunication network to the FSTS network;

A device connected to the FSTS network for the purpose of providing value-added services.

Includes: cell phones, satellite phones, VOIP phones, cell phone batteries, cell phone charging lines, phone signal lines, modems

Category II

Any equipment that uses radio that is not covered by Type I, such as low-voltage devices, unlicensed equipment, and antennas.

Includes: TV and radio antennas, receivers, transmitters, wireless network equipment, radio frequency automation equipment

Category III

Any equipment that is not covered by Type I or II and is subject to ANATEL’s rules and regulations.

Including fiber optic cables, cable connectors, mobile network signal transmitters

ANATEL certification application process

1. The customer submits samples and information to NTEK;

2. Laboratory sample test, after the test is completed, a test report will be issued

3. The qualification issuance agency reviews the test report and issues the ANATEL certification

Validity period of ANATEL certification

Type I certificates are valid before cancellation, and the other two certificates are valid for two years
