What is IFETEL
IFTEL is the full name of the Mexican Federal Telecommunications Research Institute, the full name of Instituto Federal de Telecomunicaciones, which replaced the Mexican Federal Telecommunications Commission (COFETEL) in September 2013. COFETEL certification no longer exists, and the import of telecommunications equipment in Mexico requires IFTEL certification.
The significance and responsibilities of establishing IFETEL

2. Grant operating rights and approve any transfer of operating rights;
3. Issue or update telecommunications industry regulations;
4. Identify and regulate telecommunications monopolies.

IFTEL certification application process

2. Laboratory sample test, a test report will be issued after the test is completed;
3. The qualification issuing agency reviews the test report and issues an IFTEL certificate.
