The "Administrative Measures for the Control of Pollution from Electronic Information Products", also known as "China RoHS", came into effect on March 1, 2007. It restricts harmful substances (mercury, lead, hexavalent chromium, cadmium, polybrominated biphenyls, and polybrominated diphenyl ethers, etc.) in electronic information products placed on the Chinese market. In order to promote the pollution control of my country's electrical and electronic products, on June 4, 2010, the Department of Energy Conservation and Comprehensive Utilization of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (hereinafter referred to as the Energy Conservation Department) organized a symposium on the revision of the "Administrative Measures for Pollution Control of Electronic Information Products" in Beijing. The meeting notified the implementation and implementation of the "Administrative Measures for the Control of Pollution by Electronic Information Products" (hereinafter referred to as the "Administrative Measures"), and introduced the background of the amendments to the "Administrative Measures", the main contents to be revised and related work arrangements.
On May 18, 2015, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology published the "Administrative Measures for the Restriction of the Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Products (Draft for Comment)" (hereinafter referred to as the "New Administrative Measures"). The purpose of drafting the new administrative measures is to Control and reduce environmental pollution caused by discarded electrical and electronic products, promote the production, sales, and import of low-polluting electrical and electronic products and comprehensive utilization of resources, and protect the environment and human health.
Once the new version of the Administrative Measures is formally implemented, it will have a great impact on the relevant units that produce, sell, and import electrical and electronic products within the territory of the People's Republic of China. Although the standard has not yet been officially released, companies still need to understand and master the technical content of the new version of the standard, and carry out supply chain surveys so that they can respond in time when the standard is implemented.
