Battery CB certification

CB system is a set of global mutual recognition system for electronic products established by IECEE (International Electrotechnical Commission Electrotechnical Product Qualification Testing and Certification Organization). This system obtains national certification or approval by mutual recognition test results between member states participating in the CB system. The purpose is to reduce international trade barriers due to the need to meet the certification or approval criteria of different countries.

In June 2009, the Certification Management Committee (CMC) of the IECEE CB system formulated the resolution ACAG/1398/DSH that lithium batteries need to comply with the IEC 62133 standard, and formulated the corresponding introduction timetable (three phases of introduction) . However, because the IEC 62133 standard is being upgraded, and the CB Laboratory Committee (Committee of Testing Laboratories, CTL) compared the current version of the IEC62133 standard and UL standards, it finally decided to postpone the implementation of the resolution. At the beginning of 2011, CMC re-formulated the initial post-delayed timetable for the introduction of IEC 62133 as follows:

The first stage: Before May 1, 2011, batteries that have passed UL 1642 standard certification can be directly accepted.

The second stage: May 1, 2011-May 1, 2012, batteries that only pass UL 1642 certification cannot be directly accepted, and the difference between IEC 62133 and UL 1642 must be tested.

The third stage: After May 1, 2012, whether it is a battery pack or a cell, it must be tested and evaluated in full in accordance with the IEC 62133 standard, and must comply with the standard.
